fall bucket list | painting pumpkins

we celebrated October first + wasted no time in marking items off our Fall Bucket List!

when we were picking out pumpkins and things over the weekend, I made sure to pick up a few pumpkin pie pumpkins with intentions to paint them all the fun colors for our front porch. of course painting + toddlers isn’t for the faint of heart and you have to be willing to allow a little mess, but honestly it took less than 3 minutes to clean up our masterpiece pumpkins after it was all said and done.

I linked all the products we used below:) we started with washable paint and I poured each color into an old muffin tin that I intended to toss after we were finished painting. Jordan’s dad owns a painting biz, so we have about a million drop cloths in our garage- this made for an easy “blanket” for the kids to sit on while they painted the pumpkins. you can get them on amazon really cheap! I think its a great thing to have on hand for this kind of activity with your kids. I also had a roll of Kraft paper that I cut into rectangles for each pumpkin painting “station”.  add in a couple cups of water for cleaning the brushes and you’re all set!

we went straight to the shower after Brady decided to brush his teeth with the yellow + blue paint.. and apparently the 5 year old in the back did the same, ha!

all cleaned up after bath! the perfect matching jams from GAP and I could DIE over how cute they look together. LOVE these sweet babies!

You are the BEST mom! Just looking at all that paint gives me anxiety! 🙂

  2. Brooke says:

Make sure if it rains to keep the painted pumpkins out of it. Especially if you used washable paint. We learned the hard way and it all came off in the rain!
