Unruh Furniture :: the Lakehouse Dresser

GUYS. I’m so excited for today’s post! I shared Baylor’s nursery last week on the blog and today, as promised, I’m sharing all about our experience with Unruh Furniture and creating the perfect centerpiece for Baylor’s nursery.

I met Sam + Hayley almost two years ago when they came into town from Kansas City in search of retail space to expand their handmade furniture business from KC to Dallas. we went to dinner and connected immediately.. you know those kind of connections that happen so easily and you’re just insta-friends? that was us. over wine and amazing food, they told us all about their vision and backstory.. and I was so intrigued and impressed by their mission and values. Sam started this biz in his garage and its grown exponentially over the last several years.

we ended dinner with promises to reconnect once they decided on a location here in Dallas and we could come visit! in the meantime I started to plan for a nursery and one night I was browsing IG and came across a picture of the Lakehouse dresser on Unruh Furniture Instagram. I immediately texted Hayley asking what she thought about using that piece for a changing table in a nursery! while it had never been done, it literally is the perfect use for the it!

we made an appointment to visit the Dallas Unruh showroom so we could put together our selections for the dresser.     the moment I saw it in person I fell in LOVE. its a huge piece with deep drawers and the coolest detailing. the cut out pulls and iron legs make this piece stand out from other dressers I’ve seen.    ah, the wall of paint + stain. pictures do not do it justice.originally I thought I wanted to go with a lighter stain. we were using the rocker from Brady’s room with a light wood on the bottom and the legs on the crib were also a light stain, so thats where I thought I wanted to go with the dresser as well!    until I saw the green. it was a perfect sage color!it matched just as I had selected for his name sign and the wool wall hanging above his crib!  in no time we talked it over and agreed that this was the route we wanted to go with the dresser.  we sat down with the sales associate to make our selection specifics.  finished! I was so excited to get our nursery started!I am so grateful for being able to work with Unruh in collaboration of Baylor nursery.

I’m also VERY excited to be partnering with them to giveaway $2000 to one of you! $2000 to go towards anything you love in their showroom! if you’re looking for a table, dresser, desk- they hand craft it all! personally, I love this Juniper Hutch and the Brookside Bookcase!
